Biography:

Dorian Gunter is a skilled family law attorney, having focused on this area of specialty since 1979. His family law practice includes divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution matters, as well as the negotiation and preparation of premarital agreements, postmarital agreements, and separation agreements. He also has significant experience representing clients in civil litigation matters, including alienation of affection and criminal conversation claims. He has received an AV Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating. He has also been designated as a "Super Lawyer" by North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine and has been included in the "Legal Elite" by North Carolina Business magazine. Inclusion in both publications involves a rigorous selection process including peer review. He has also been selected by his peers to be included in "The Best Lawyers In America."

He graduated cum laude in 1975 with a B.A. from Wake Forest University, where he also earned his J.D. in 1979. He was admitted to practice in North Carolina in 1979.

Mr. Gunter is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, North Carolina State Bar, and Mecklenburg County Family Law Section.
